Why Having Substance Is Your Greatest Asset and How to Possess More of It

People focus much of their attention on appearances and by that, I do not just mean their outward appearance such as their physical looks but also how they appear to other people. We live in a society that very much judges others based on what is seen on the exterior. I understand that it is for this reason why people put such a huge emphasis on how they come across and are seen by others in real life and on social media. However, people should really put more of their attention towards building up their substance as individuals and who they are in the inside and not just the outside.

This is why you often hear, “don’t judge a book by its cover” because there is definitely validity behind this common adage. I can think of a handful of times where I misjudged people based on appearances and I was totally wrong about the person. I am sure everyone has experienced this before for the good or for the bad. This goes with attraction too where someone might not be as physically attractive in your eyes but because the person has substance and truly is beautiful in the inside, this makes the person an attractive one despite the exterior. In contrast, you might meet someone who you find to be incredibly good looking but because there is a lack of substance and/or chemistry, you do not view the person as attractive anymore. It is kind of like an optical illusion where what you see is not what you get which is why looks really are not everything!

Substance is an asset that often is never mentioned but holds so much value and in some, is never really fully developed. The good news is that there are ways to build up substance and to make this a focal point in your self development. I believe the best way to do this is to cultivate your passions and interests on an authentic level. In other words, do not go through the motions of doing things for the sake of it or because you see everyone doing something on social media. You need to figure out what brings you joy and what are the things that you most naturally gravitate towards most. Everyone is born with their own unique set of talents, interests, strengths, and abilities. It is your job to determine what they are and to expand on them. This will not only bring you genuine happiness in life but oftentimes it will fulfill a purpose by providing meaning and substance to the core of your soul. Substance is what carries you in life and serves as a helpful tool to attract the right opportunities and people into your Universe which is why it is a necessity to possess a good amount of it.

What To Do When Someone Does Not Meet Your Standards

It is natural to meet people who are not on the same level as you or perhaps does not give you the same level of respect, love, and support that you know that you deserve. And guess what? That is OKAY because you always have control in how you interact with others. Too often, people forget that they have this power and allow people to take advantage or waste their time. It is also common to see someone make an attempt to teach the other person what their standards are or to try to shape the other person to adapt. While that might work in certain scenarios, if it does, usually the results are SHORT TERM. In other words, the other person might go through the motions of “adapting” but realistically this person is only doing so to please the other person or to keep them in their lives. Most people are who they are which is why it tends to be an arduous task to change any individual. Usually it does not happen and it is wasted energy in my opinion because there is a far better solution–stop wasting your time on people who are not on your level.

I know that is something that not everyone wants to hear but that is the underlying issue at hand. Rather than settling or trying to fix someone, you are better off walking away. Even if you see some positive qualities, “some” usually is never enough. It is important to set the bar high at all times and this includes the people that you choose to be a part of your life. It is not worth being left disappointed all the time or feeling as though someone is constantly falling short. Trust me when I tell you that there are plenty of extraordinary people out there and that there are people out there who exist who you will find admirable and who inspire you. These are the types of people that you should try to associate yourself with and keep close to while the ones who do not meet your standards you can dismiss altogether.

How to Cut Spending Without Feeling Deprived

I haven’t really written a financial related blog in quite some time and I feel that while this is always a topic of interest, proper money management is also a much needed life skill. As important as it is to amp up your salary or to find multiple streams of income, someone can make all the money in the world and not know how to manage it or overspend it where they do not have much money at all. That is why it is beneficial to know how and when to cut spending but to do so without feeling deprived so that you can still live your life in abundance.

Which leads me to the point that although it sounds like an oxymoron to preach about having an abundant life but then you have to cut back on spending money, the truth is that you can actually do both at the same time. For one, it is important to be thankful for what you currently have because practicing gratitude actually attracts more abundance into your life. Also consider that if you are happy with what you have, you will likely be spending less money on things that are not a true necessity which is a good thing because that means that you will be spending less money on things that you do not need.

Everyone has different areas in their lives that they are willing to spend more money on and things that they do not care about or prioritize as much. I would suggest establishing what areas that you can cut back on and the ones that you are willing to splurge on. For example, for me personally, I think it is a waste of money to buy lunch all the time or to purchase coffee daily so I do not spend much money on these items as I prefer to save the money and make my food and coffee at home. On the other hand, I know that there are people who find it to be quite enjoyable to buy their lunch and/or coffee on a daily basis because it is a luxury to them and just makes their lives more convenient. My point is, what I might label as a “waste of money” might be something that is very valuable to another individual so that is why I said that everyone needs to determine what they like to splurge on and then what areas that they can save their money on. This way you will have a balanced approach to your spending where you can have the things that you really care about but then you can also save money as well by cutting back on the things that are not essential to you personally.

Happy 2/22/22!!! :) – Are Certain Dates Luckier Than Others?

Happy 2/22/22! How cool is it that today’s date is all consecutive numbers? This rarely happens and it is worth pointing out as I would label it a lucky day. It also is somewhat ironic that it’s a Tuesday or “twos day.” For me personally, 22 has always been a lucky number and so it feels especially lucky that today is February 22, 2022.

So are certain dates luckier than others?

Whether or not you have “lucky” numbers or positive associations to certain numbers, I think that if you do, then those dates will consciously feel luckier to you–regardless of what the day brings. It is more so for fun to have lucky numbers. By that, I mean that you can generate your own luck on a daily basis and that you do not need to rely on specific days to be lucky in order to experience any luck or abundance of joy.

Regardless of your personal views on whether or not some numbers are luckier than others, I hope that 2/22/22 is a great day for you! I am going to keep this post short and sweet and enjoy this day as it feels special to me! 🙂

Living Your Best Life – Every Decision Determines Your Destiny

Life is filled with many opportunities and it is up to you to make the right life decisions in order to live your very best life. People tend to think that we don’t have much control of our lives and that we have to settle for undesirable outcomes. No one needs to settle for anything! Remember, we all have one life to live. Why not make it an amazing one? That is why it is helpful to do a little bit of spiritual homework on your end and take the time to actually determine what that means to you. This is why vision boards or Universe journals are helpful tools in guiding you to illustrate what you want your future to look like. Even though this works for me and I always advise others to do the same, if you choose not to–the good news is that you can still proactively make the right choices and live a very good life.

I often times think about how it might take a series of good decisions to get to where you want to be. This is all part of the process and this is why it important to really think things through as opposed to making hasty or impulsive decisions. The start of each day brings upon a new beginning and gives you the opportunity to start fresh. Your destiny might not be heavily impacted by a single day but more so over a series of events or a longer period of time. It is refreshing to know that you are the creator of your destiny and that it is always in motion as long as you take action and focus on what you want most in your future.

Every so often, you will find that you did not make a great choice and you might feel set back in certain ways. This is totally normal and is to be expected because life is not designed to be perfect. It is how you learn from your mistakes and decide to change the course of your life that will put you back on the right track again. I do believe that sometimes it is necessary to go through bad things in order to get to the greater good. Remember that it is never too late to shift your life into a more positive direction and that you have the capacity to live your best life–one great decision at a time.

Find Meaningfulness in Your Life and You Will Always Find Happiness

I was reflecting on my life very much at the start of the new year and while I know I live a blessed life, I also know that I live an extremely happy and fulfilling one as well. People who know me personally know that I am not someone who gets sad easily and depression is definitely not something I can say I have truly ever experienced on a deep level. Of course there are days that bring its challenges but in the grand scheme of things, I love the life I am creating everyday and genuinely am a happy individual. Am I just born this way or am I doing something differently? Can others learn to live happier lives themselves?

My biggest advice is simple and it is a general principle that I have applied throughout my entire lifetime, both on a conscious and subconscious level: Find meaningfulness in your life and you will always find happiness. It is important to find meaning in all areas of your life whether it be within your profession, relationships, friendships, hobbies, etc. By finding meaning, I mean actually have a genuine connection and affinity towards everything you pursue. Don’t waste your time working for a company that you hate and that brings you down. Don’t invest your time in meaningless relationships that don’t have a significant impact on your heart. Don’t go through the motions of life because you feel you are “supposed to do something” or because “everyone is doing it.” You need to carve your own path and strive to find meaning behind everything that you do and happiness will always follow.

Dating Advice That No One Wants to Hear but It’s True

I have been trying to think of a good list of dating advice that can literally apply to anyone and everyone. I thought of a short list of dating principles that I recognize might be common sense but dating advice that people don’t always follow in which it is important to share it. I really strive to help people make the very best choices in their personal lives so hopefully these tips are helpful! ❤

Not Everyone Is Going to Like You – Accept It and Move On – This is definitely one of the biggest reality checks that many people fail to follow and understand. It is very common to like someone who does not have the same feelings in return. The best thing to do is to move on and find an equal match where there is a mutual attraction on both ends. However, unfortunately people still stick around in hopes that the other person will start to develop feelings over time or they simply invest way too much of their time, resources, and both their emotional and physical energy into this person when the signs were clear from the start that nothing meaningful was ever going to transpire. I know for many, this can be a tough situation to deal with and can easily bruise the ego. There good thing is, there are literally billions of people in this world and I can assure you that you can actually find someone who values you just as much as you value them in return. So stop wasting your time on the people who don’t like you and find someone who not only likes you but adores you! (Again, with so many people who exist in this Universe, I am pretty sure that this person exists–trust me on this one)! 😉

Don’t Be So Outcome Dependent – Especially When You First Meet Someone – People tend to have way too many expectations when they are out in the dating world and as a result, end up terribly disappointed. Now I am not saying to not have high standards because of course you should set the bar high when you are looking for a life partner. What I am referring to are relationship expectations and imposing a dating agenda when you do not even know the person all too well or perhaps just met them. For example, women tend to discuss wanting a marriage and children after the first date or just a few dates. There is nothing wrong with wanting to manifest these specific things but to mention this to someone without establishing a deep connection first is incredibly premature and unnecessary. The same goes with men who go on dates and they might have a set number of dates in their minds that they are willing to go on before the woman is intimate with them. This again is the wrong approach. It is way better to have a go with the flow mentality and see where things go as opposed to assigning this dating agenda because every dating scenario is situational and you might not even like the person all too much to begin with. That is why it is important to take the time that is needed to build that spiritual connection first and establish that you both want a relationship before expecting intimacy, marriage, etc. You have to let things happen as it is supposed to play out and be patient with the process knowing that the outcome you are looking for is on its way. This is why there is no need to rush it or impose it on anyone because you will meet the right person when you are destined to do so!

Learn to Love Your Life With or Without Someone – I find that there are a lot of people in this world who can’t handle being single and literally are not happy unless they are in a relationship. To me, the underlying issue with this is that these are people who feel empty inside because they do not love their life and/or feel good enough so they rely on others to provide them with love, happiness, and validation in order to feel good about self. Think about it, if someone is happy with their own life, they can navigate and enjoy it without the help of others. This is a very good place to be in because this means that you can function independently and if you happen to meet someone whom you choose to develop a serious relationship with, it is an added bonus to your life but not a necessity because you already love your life!

Wishing Everyone a Healthy and Happy Holiday

Today is the day before Christmas Eve and for all of those who celebrate Christmas, I wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday! I know with the recent spike of covid cases, Christmas might not be as traditional as planned but let’s all try to make the very most of it! Despite anything that’s going on within the world around us, there is still so much to be thankful for and now is an optimal time to feel a heightened sense of gratitude.

(As FYI–I will be taking a “blog vacation” for the first time next week and perhaps the week following. For one, it is my birthday next week on 12/28 and I’ll have the week off in which I’ll be away from my computer and have the opportunity to relax a bit. I will also be taking this time from now until the new year to spend with family, friends, and loved ones which I am looking extremely forward to. Thank you for tuning in and also a happy new year–I’ll be back in 2022)! 🙂

“The Only Difference Between a Good Day and a Bad Day Is Your Attitude”

I am not sure exactly where this quote came from but I read it and knew it was not only something I agreed with but something that I wanted to share in my blog: “The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude.” Basically, everything always comes down to your mindset and keeping your thoughts and reactions to everyday life as positive as possible. Of course there are going to be what appears to be bad days with setbacks, misfortunes, etc. but at the end of the day, you have the choice in how you deal with it. Some days are always going to be better than others but a positive mindset can help by allowing you to cope with things more effectively and preventing yourself from feeling down.

The next time you have a “bad” day, try to find the silver lining and do not let it get the best of you. It’s okay and normal to feel sadness, pain, frustration, and other negative feelings from time to time but ultimately you need to look at the greater good and know that everything is going to be okay. You are also increasing your mental strength when you choose to not let negativity (in this case in the form of a “bad” day) deteriorate your mind. Remember, it is always within your control the way in which you manage your emotions and how you decide to react to daily life which is why it is incredibly important to keep your attitude a positive one! 🙂
