Why Michael Jordan Says “Never Say Never”

People often hear the expression, “Never say never.” This can be interpreted in different ways but essentially you should not limit yourself and say you cannot do something or achieve anything that you truly want. More specifically, Michael Jordan took it a step further by saying in his Hall of Fame induction address:

โ€œNever say never. Because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion.โ€ — Michael Jordan

Think about it, the biggest setbacks originate from your own mind. Perhaps other people have the power to create doubts in your head but that does NOT mean you have to listen to them. There is no need to waste your energy on people who try to put you down. It is for this reason, you need to be aware of your inner most thoughts by proactively developing a mindset that is strong and unstoppable along with blocking any negativity from evolving in the first place. It is natural to experience fears from time to time but as Michael Jordan states, they are often just an illusion.

At the end of the day, your reality starts with YOU. Anything is possible and becomes a high possibility if you actually believe in your full potential. Learn to actually “never say never” and achieve what you can, even if that means you have to start small or from absolutely nothing. I will also leave you with another great Michael Jordan quote that I also recently discovered: โ€œYou must expect great things of yourself before you can do them.โ€ This is incredibly accurate and correlates with what I like to preach within my blog the importance of setting the bar high in all areas of your life. Even if there are some failures along the way or you do not reach your target at all times, it is still better than settling for less than what you are capable of.

Ask For What You Want From the Universe (OR SOMETHING BETTER)

When I talk about how I am able to attract things that I want most in life and how I am spiritually connected to the Universe, people who are on the same spiritual wavelength “get it” whereas there are other people who hear this and probably think I am absolutely crazy (and I am okay with that). What works for me personally won’t work for everyone but I do happen to find that others who hold the same spiritual beliefs as I do also are on a great life track, attract abundance with ease, and are positive minded individuals who live life with fulfillment.

What is stopping most people from living the life that they want is that they are not specific in what they want. They might think about what they want from time to time which is a good start but it needs to be a laser focused thought that is specific along with a burning desire attached to it. There is a huge difference between, “It would be nice to lose a little weight” vs. “I want to lose 10 lbs and will do what it takes to reach my goal by changing my diet and working out a minimum of five days a week.” Saying anything “would be nice” is simply NOT nice enough when it comes to the manifestation process because it isn’t a firm enough statement backing up that you even want whatever it is that badly to begin with.

Besides asking for what I want which I do put the time to put into writing when it is something serious, I just got into the habit of adding to the end of the statement: Or something better. Right now, think about what you really want and try to be as detailed as you can be.

Ex: I want ________________ or something better.
(You fill in the blank of course).

The reason behind it is that I think of it like this, why put a limitation on what you are asking for? I can be very specific in what I want but I am always open to obtaining something even better than what I initially asked for. So the next time you are looking to manifest something, of course ask within reason but be sure to add “or something better” to the end of it because as we all know, ‘the sky’s the limit‘ so why can’t this apply to your life? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fixate on Everything You DO Have (Not What is Lacking) to Increase Positivity and Abundance In Your Life

Often times I have conversations with people and I cannot help but notice how unhappy and empty they appear to feel inside. This can range from someone complaining about every little thing, making excuses as to why their life is the way it is (aka miserable), and/or their energy is focused on everything they are lacking. I believe that often times, the greatest barrier that is preventing someone like this from growing and attracting abundance into their life stems from their mindset–a very negative, limiting, and weak one. This is where you need to make a conscious effort to stop yourself from clouding your mind with these negative thoughts and get into a habit of developing more positive ones. The truth is, life is not going to be sunshine and rainbows at all times. There will be storms and dark clouds (spiritually speaking) along the way but you cannot focus on the darkness because it will eventually subside and it is only temporary. Remember, it is as temporary as your mind determines it to be so the quicker your mind can move on from the negativity, the better. Although it is natural and okay to feel moments of doubt and unhappiness from time to time, you cannot allow these feelings to dominate your mind on a regular basis–you need to consciously detach yourself from developing these into permanent feelings.

I also want to point out that everyone is born with special gifts and talents which we need to continue to build and expand on. Don’t focus on what you are missing, focus on what you got going for you. EVERYONE has SOMETHING to offer! What is your special gift? What gives your life purpose and how can you provide value to yourself and others? Look at what you have going for you and learn to be thankful for all your amazing attributes instead of complaining about what you don’t have. This most certainly applies to your looks too. So what if you’re not that tall? So what if you don’t like the shape of your nose? Whatever it is that you perceive as an “imperfection,” why are you not acknowledging your very best features? People tend to complain about what they wish they had and might go through drastic measures to change them when they should be owning what they do have instead. I do not want to hear that you cannot live a better life or be happy because of something you are missing which stems from what is missing on the inside. Continue to focus on what’s great. At the end of the day, you need to work with what you have and fully go with it!

When You Have to Pay, You Pay Attention – How I Became Financially Savvy With These 5 Money Principles

When it comes to personal finance, I think this is an area in life where people can always improve and there are definitely ways to plan ahead to ensure that you are on a road to a better financial future. I am fortunate in that I had strong parents who taught me very good money lessons at a young age which shaped me into the financially savvy person I am today. I would not say I am an expert but I can provide some basic money principles that work and it is never too late to adapt them into your life no matter what your financial status is right now. With the right practices put into place, you can achieve your money goals and become a financially independent individual along with passing these money principles down to your children and the people you care about most.

I want to start off by saying, this expression is absolutely true when it comes to money–“When you pay, you pay attention.” Meaning that when you have to pay for everything, you do very well pay attention to what you are spending your money on and every little cost along the way. As soon as I could get a job as a teenager, I was held accountable for paying for everything. My parents never paid my cell phone bills, car insurance, clothes, entertainment, etc. Although they were never poor and as an only child, they easily could have covered all these costs–they still refused to pay for these things. Think about it: If they provided me with all these basic necessities, what would be the incentive to go out and get a job? Their attitude from the start was, “If you want something, you need to work for it and figure it out yourself.” Their underlying message was that I had to work for things like everyone else in this world while also instilling their full confidence that I had the capacity to earn it all by myself without relying on their credit cards and bank accounts. Their tough love approach was effective as it provided me with a burning drive at a young age to work hard along with becoming money motivated for not only survival purposes but for everything beyond that. In other words, besides paying bills and basic needs, anything else I wanted that extends beyond that such as a nice vacation, I can create the resources to make it happen. ๐Ÿ˜‰ [Side note: It is for this reason, when people I know tell me their children are spoiled, don’t appreciate anything, and don’t work–my response is to cut them off financially. Sounds harsh but it is the dose of reality and tough love that is needed to build their autonomy, confidence, work ethic, and self worth while also doing them a huge favor in the long run. Trust me.]

My point in sharing this is to show how I became financially savvy at a young age because my parents taught me the value of money by having me always have to work for it. These are principles I have applied since my youth and that I continue to live by to this day.

Spend Less Than You EarnHow often do you see people spend money that they don’t really have? I see people do this all the time where they barely can pay their bills and do not really have a savings in the event that they need it for an emergency (such as the current pandemic) which is why I would rank this as the most important money principle. It is essential to spend under your means in order to prevent sinking into debt and giving yourself the opportunity to bank more money into your savings/investments.

Focus on Excelling in Your Profession – It does not matter what professional field that you chose as there is always room for you to build your career which typically means a higher salary over time. If you are extremely good at what you do, people will want to pay you for it and/or promote you so focusing on your career should be a main focal point for both personal development and financial growth.

Find Multiple Streams of Income – I suppose if you chose a career path that already provided you a hefty salary, there is not as much of a need to find multiple streams of income but I do believe this is something people often overlook and is a missed financial opportunity. Most people are content with just having their weekly job and will call it a day which in certain situations, I understand if the job is incredibly taxing and takes up the majority of your life where there is little room for free time. However, what if you found something that you loved to do and could also make a little extra income? Anyone can turn any small hobby into a few extra dollars or sometimes a ton of money (hey, why limit yourself? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and there are always people willing to pay for services that they may not like or have the expertise in but you do.

Save As Much as Possible (Every Penny Counts) – People often underestimate that every little bit saved adds up to a big amount of money over time. For example, if you enjoy getting a cup of coffee everyday, you might think it’s such a small expense, why not treat yourself every morning; however, so much money can be saved just by cutting back the amount of days you go a week or simply by making it yourself at home. My point is, every little bit saved is extra money in your pocket that can be used for bigger and better things for your future.

Make Investments to Grow Your Money Over Time – There are many things one can invest their money in, such as real estate but first and foremost, you absolutely need a retirement fund. I know it is something most people do not really think much about until they are actually getting closer to that stage of their lives but this is where you need to think long term and start investing NOW! I always contributed towards an IRA thanks to having a financially savvy mother who had me open an account when I was 18 years old (all my money of course, not a cent from my parents) but looking back, I wish I was putting in much more as I could be benefiting from all the compound interest. As I mentioned before, the good news is–it is never too late to start investing and now I maximize my IRA every single year because I am more consciously aware of investing and have the money to do so. Even if you are not currently in a position where you can maximize your contributions each year, remember that every little bit you invest now will grow into much more money in your future so anything is always better than nothing. The key is to start a retirement fund if you have not already done so and to consistently add what you can each year.

An Everyday Motto to Live By – “Fantastic and Only Improving”

I was watching the news the other day where I learned that Brooke Baldwin is leaving CNN in which I strolled onto her Instagram (I wanted to send her some well wishes) and found her wearing a sweatshirt that read, “Fantastic and Only Improving.” She explained that whenever she asked her security guard Ant Diggity how his day was, he would always respond with that exact phrase. I loved it so much that I just had to share it with my readers! ๐Ÿ™‚

What I like most about it is that it is declaring a firm positive state of mind of being fantastic (not just your typical, “good” or “okay” response). Then it is followed up by, only improving. This is really the key to living a fulfilling life full of abundance and leading to a path of growth, success, and happiness–which is by focusing on making self improvements and bettering yourself on a regular basis! No one is born perfect but at the very least, we can always strive for the very best things in life and make a commitment to be a better person each and every day.

So the next time someone asks you, “How are you doing?” Just look the person straight in the eye and reply with conviction, “Fantastic and only improving.” ๐Ÿ˜‰

[On a final note, I am snowed in today in NJ and was thinking about taking a nap; however, after writing this post, I am actually self motivated to do more productive things instead. It goes to show that you can stay motivated with the right mindset].

3 Qualities Needed to Attract an Abundance of Wealth

Most people want more money and strive for financial security; however, many find themselves in bad financial situations. That could include having endured a hefty amount of debt, barely being able to pay the bills, or simply not being in a position to save and/or invest their money. No matter what your situation is right now, there are ways you can change your financial fate and be on the path of attracting more wealth. This first comes from within and examining your money mindset while adapting these qualities that can help you accumulate more wealth over time.

[Money] motivation– It is one thing to be motivated in various areas of your life but to become wealthy, you specifically need to be money motivated. By this, I mean you are driven to want to earn a lot of money, not simply being comfortable with having enough to get by each week. People who are money motivated are not interested in just having enough money to survive and often times you will never see someone who is money motivated ever broke. Why? They are so money motivated that the idea of being broke is not even an option or way of life. In their minds, it is an unacceptable so things never get that financially dire. Now a person might start off not having much money or perhaps poor which would propel this person to become money motivated. As a result, you often find these people to really maximize their money earning potential because it stems from their deep money motivation.

Responsibility – Responsible people tend to have the ability to save money and large quantities of it. Being able to save means more money in their bank accounts. I strongly believe that it does not matter as much how much a person can earn but how they ultimately manage their money. People who make less money still have the potential to accumulate wealth by simply being exceptional savers which means it might take them longer to become wealthy but at least they’re on the road to financial security. Whereas on the opposite spectrum, there is a reason why you see millionaires and lottery winners go bankrupt. This is a classic example of poor money management. Which translates to irresponsibility which is why it truly is essential to be responsible when it comes to your money.

Discipline – Discipline applies both ways when it comes to your overall money management. It applies to how you save and how you earn. If someone has enough money to buy something but says no, that requires a high level of personal discipline. This could apply to very expensive items but also inexpensive items that by not spending, a lot of money is getting saved over time. I always say that every dollar counts which is why it is important to save on both the little things along with high ticketed items. In regards to making money and elevating your earning potential, you also need a good amount of discipline to put in the time and work that is needed to make the money. You might feel overworked or just want some personal time off but thanks to being disciplined, you recognize the reward of earning the money than being lazy and not working for it. Discipline essentially requires a no pain, no gain mentality. You do what you have to do to earn the money but also preserve it by saving and investing it as much as you can, even if that means giving up material goods and services that you would normally spend your money on.

[On a final note, I can tell you from my personal life experience, that having these three qualities are highly effective in building wealth. I would not necessarily classify myself as rich (yet ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) but I can tell you that I live a good life where all my essential needs are met along with having both an emergency savings and retirement funds that I continue to grow thanks to having money motivation, responsibility, and discipline].

I Do Not Believe in Manifesting an Exact Person Into Your Life But You Can Do These Two Things Instead

I never want to tell someone that they cannot do something because truly anything is possible with the right mindset and the Laws of Attraction put into play. However, when it comes to manifesting the right partner or more precisely a specific person, I do not want to say it is impossible but I just do not feel it is realistic or the best approach because you cannot always make someone fall in love with you–especially if they are not in the right place to pursue a relationship or flat out already decided you are not the one for them. It is for this reason why I find it to be wasted spiritual energy to put all your eggs in one basket and keep only one person in your mind whom you want to manifest. It just is not the right way to think because you are limiting yourself by narrowing the scope of your vision to only one person when there could actually be other potential mates who would be an even better mutual match. More consequently, you are putting yourself in a scarcity mindset (Translation: This is the one and only person for me). Remember, we live in a world of abundance. How is it possible that this person is the only person you want to manifest in order to make your life feel complete? I highly doubt that (no offense). So what now? What are other action steps can you take to at the very least manifest the right partner into your life?

Work on Yourself So You Have the Most You Can Offer to the Partner of Your Dreams – People never want to hear this but this actually is the root of the problem. While there are many people who set the bar low (“I will take whoever I can get” mindset) and wonder why they are always unhappy within their personal relationships, there is also a different category of people who think the opposite. In contrast, they hold very high expectations as to who they want to be with but at the end of the day, they do not have much to offer to the other partner. [Think about it, why would a person of high value settle for someone who does not also work on being the very best version of self? Not only is it unrealistic, you just do not see that happen all too often]. In order to really attract the person you want to be with, the reality is, you also need to put in the work and step up your game so that you equally can be the full package not only for yourself first and foremost but to attract someone of the same level. When you focus more on yourself rather than staying in a state of desperation always in need of finding someone, you will be amazed at the results. You will naturally just be more attractive to others without even asking or trying anymore. People will want to date you and you will find that there are actually too many options as opposed to feeling there are never enough.

Be Specific on the Qualities You Are Looking For – If you already have an exact person whom you want to attract, what is it about them that you like? It is better to focus more on these qualities instead of the person you have in mind because chances are, you will eventually find a person who possesses some (maybe even all) of the same qualities even though it was not the original person you had envisioned. If you want to take this step seriously, take a moment to write a list of the qualities that are most important to you in a partner. Realistically, you might not find someone who has every single quality within your personal checklist but it is a good guideline to follow and use as reference when you are dating because you are more focused on what you are looking for. I definitely recommend being very specific on the criteria but do not focus only on a single person. Although it can happen and you can capture the heart of someone you know whom you really like, keep the spiritual door open to the idea that you can find someone like this person instead or perhaps you might find someone completely new in its entirety. Remember, the Universe is an abundant place and anything is possible so keep that mind open to the possibilities!

You Attract What You Believe You Deserve – Why You Need to Set the Bar High at All Times

Whether people realize it or not, many life experiences that we attract were manifested from the core of our beliefs. Someone who is very positive and loves their life often feel that way because they genuinely believe they have an amazing life to live. Their life isn’t exceptional by chance or because this person was more lucky than someone else. They recognize that they have the capacity to create their own luck by naturally gravitating towards the things that they love along with developing a “sky’s the limit” mindset in which anything they want is within their reach. Even people who were not born into the most ideal life situations have the power to change their destiny and still work towards living a grand life. Often times, you will actually see that the people who experienced much misfortune in their youth end up being the most determined and successful people out in the world. One might wonder, how is it possible to make a dramatically positive switch in life when it was so bad to begin with? As I point out, time and time again, it really starts with your mind first. Not mine (and not anyone else’s) because as much as I can preach this to you, if you do not actually take it seriously, then it will never hold any value or meaning.

It is for this reason that you need to set the bar high at all times. No matter what your current situation is or how unrealistic at the moment it is to ask for what you’re asking for, it is important to believe that you are capable of obtaining it in order to begin the process of manifesting it. When you believe you deserve the very best, you keep attracting the very best and in abundance. There really is no such thing as setting the bar too high in my book! Even if it appears to be far fetched right now, that does not mean it can never happen. Why? The reason being that your beliefs shift your focus into making this a reality. Let’s repeat that: Your beliefs shift your focus into making this a reality.

The same also applies to your personal relationships. If you set the bar high in this department and are crystal clear as to the relationship that you want to be in, trust me–you will not be settling for the players, manipulators, etc. because not only is it transparent that they bring nothing to the table but you also believe you deserve the very best when love is concerned. You are not giving your heart out to just anyone, nor why should you? Setting the bar high in your personal life might mean that you are left single for quite awhile but just remember that it is for the greater good and there is certainly nothing wrong with not wanting to settle. Not to mention that some of the greatest things in life are always worth waiting for.

Gratitude is the Right Attitude – 5 Quotes to Keep Your Spirits Up

In celebration of Thanksgiving, I thought it would be best to keep up the theme of gratitude for the day although it is important that it is practiced on a daily basis. I found some great quotes to share that will keep your spirits up and help your mind stay focused on gratitude because we all know that gratitude is the right attitude! ๐Ÿ˜‰

“Gratitude can turn a meal into a feast.” – Melody Beattie

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” – Eckhart Tolle

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is to not utter the words, but to live by them.” – John F. Kennedy

“The miracle of gratitude is that it shifts your perception to such an extent that it changes the world you see.” – Robert Holden

“The more thankful I became, the more my bounty increased. That’s because – for sure – what you focus on expands. When you focus on the goodness in your life, your life expands.” – Oprah Winfrey

[Happy Thanksgiving! Just a quick end note to thank everyone for reading my blog! I appreciate all of my readers and getting the opportunity to share my positivity with you all!]

The Importance of Chasing Intrinsic Happiness if You Want to Be Successful

What is success? Everyone has a different view as to what success means to them. Success to one person could mean an abundance of fortune while to someone else it could mean achieving fame or perhaps it could be a combination of both and so much more. Success can mean different things to different people. Despite success being translated in various ways, one universal principle that will keep you on the pathway to success comes down to your constant pursuit of intrinsic happiness. The reason why I want to emphasize the intrinsic aspect of happiness is because it really needs to come from within your soul (and not someone else’s). It has to be automatic, natural, authentic, and ultimately make you feel good inside.

If you are pursuing things in life for the sake the of it, everybody’s doing it, or someone tells you it is a good idea when you do not feel the same way, that does not equate as success in my book because it does not revolve around doing what brings you intrinsic happiness. For example, society likes to paint a picture of how your life is meant to play out. In order to have a successful career, you need to pursue an education by going to college. So does that mean that every “successful” career requires a college degree? Absolutely not! Especially in today’s modern world, there are plenty of ways to work towards a successful career that might not require a formal education. The same goes for marriage. It might appear that you need to get married by a certain age in order to reach a high level of success within your personal life but some people might not have the desire to get married or have a family. A person focused on intrinsic happiness while doing it solo can still have the capacity to attract success into their lives and sometimes even more so even if it appears that their personal life was compromised.

At the end of the day, you really need to ask yourself, what makes you happy from the inside out? What brings you joy and makes you feel excited to be alive? When choosing a career path that leads to success, opting for a job that guarantees a hefty salary might be a strong motivating factor but you need to also love what you do. If you dread going to work or hate your job, then maybe it is time to leave your field altogether and try something new. It is never too late to reinvent yourself. I also truly believe that whatever it is that you gravitate towards in life, the money will follow and you can make a living from it. Some paths will take longer than others but with the Laws of Attraction put into place, you do not need to worry so much about the how and when but rather trust the process by trusting what your soul is telling you to chase in life. We all have one life to live–so let’s make it count by investing our energy and time into the things that provide us a life full of purpose and personal satisfaction which will ultimately bring us a heightened level of success in all areas of our lives. ๐Ÿ™‚
